Across the Water: Digital Illustration

This illustration was originally done as a pencil drawing. I wasn't satisfied with the pencil rendition and felt a harsher treatment would be more effective. I scanned the image into Photoshop, used the magic wand to select the drawing and turned the selection lines to black. I then increased the contrast, modified the placement and size of the figures and darkened the edges so the image focused in on the house across the lake.

I enjoy black and white. when I think of art photography I think in black and white . There is an elegance to it that I have not often seen in color photographs. There are many techniques, using the computer, to do any type of graphic technique mimicing traditional print techniques.
