Portrait of Chris

This is a portrait of my youngest sister Chris. She is difficult to photograph and, as many people do, she always tries to put on a "say cheese" kind of smile. I caught her off guard and, as my preference is for pictures where people are not smiling, or looking at the camera, I decided to use it.

The image was scanned from a 3x5 print. I had to do a lot of touch up as well as burning and dodging to get the light balance to work correctly. It's a lot more fun to do that kind of thing in Photoshop. I used to hate hand spotting pictures with a tiny brush.

This photo was taken with my Nikon 35mm camera and processed in Photoshop.
